Recently, leading paper enterprises such as Shandong Sun Paper, Shandong Huatai Paper, Shandong Bohui Paper and Nine Dragons Paper announced to raise the culture paper and copper paper prices by 200 yuan/ton from March 1, 2025. Meanwhile, the price boom also involves uncoated paper and copy paper due to the continuous rise in raw material costs and changes of supply and demand. This is the first price boom in paper industry after the 2025 Chinese Spring Festival.

For the reason of price increase, some paper enterprises said that it was mainly determined by market factors such as the raise of raw material prices and the imbalance of supply and demand. Several paper enterprises (such as Nine Dragons, Sun Paper) reduced capacity due to equipment maintenance or downtime inspection during the holiday, which led to supply shortage. However, the strong market demand is supported by traditional peak season, for example, the demand for teaching materials increases because of the start of new academic term, and the export order growth. In addition, the packaging and printing industry's rigid demand for culture paper is also recovering.
